Over the past few months, our farmhouse has looked a little different. Less quiet evenings… more jars cooling on the counter, wax melting on the stove, and a whole lot of testing, learning, and refining.
We’ve been busy ,not chasing trends, but creating products we actually use in our own home and feel good about offering to our community.
We’re excited to officially share our newest small-batch homestead goods, all thoughtfully made with simple, purposeful ingredients and zero shortcuts.
Why We Make Our Own
If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you know this already:we care about what comes into our own home and what goes on our skin.
So many store-bought products are packed with fillers, artificial fragrances, petroleum byproducts, and ingredients you can’t even pronounce. Your skin is your largest organ it absorbs what you put on it and we believe it deserves better.

Everything we make is rooted in that belief:
No junk
No unnecessary chemicals
No toxic fumes
No mass production
Just honest ingredients, made slowly and intentionally.

Our New Candles: Clean Burn
We’re currently offering two candle scents, both poured in small batches using organic wax and beeswax
NO paraffin, NO petroleum, and NO headaches from synthetic fragrance clouds.
🕯 Homestead Cookie:
Warm, cozy, and nostalgic :: like baking days, full ovens, and family gathered close. This scent is comforting without being overpowering, and it fills a room gently rather than smacking you in the face.
🌲 Maine Woods: Currently SOLD OUT
Fresh, woodsy, and grounding. Inspired by quiet walks through the pines and the stillness of our woods here in Maine. This one is clean, earthy, and calming perfect for evenings when you want to slow down.
🌲 O' Holy Night
Oh Holy Night is a blend of frankincense and myrrh, brightened with tart cranberry and grounded by fresh pine. Inspired by the stillness of Christmas night and the sacred gift of Christ’s birth, this candle fills your space with a sense of peace, reflection, and quiet worship. A timeless winter fragrance meant to be lit slowly, prayerfully, and with gratitude.
All candles are designed to burn without releasing toxic fumes into your home.
Whipped & Traditional Tallow Balms
This one has quickly become a homestead favorite.
Our balms are made with grass-fed tallow, a fat that closely mimics the natural oils in human skin. That means it absorbs beautifully, nourishes deeply, and actually supports healing rather than just sitting on the surface.
Traditional Balm
Firm, long-lasting, and incredibly effective, especially for dry winter skin, cracked hands, elbows, and feet. A little goes a long way.
Whipped Balm
The same nourishing ingredients, whipped into a lighter, airy texture that’s easier to spread. It takes more time and care to make, but it’s a customer favorite for everyday use.
Both versions are made without water, which means no preservatives needed and are ideal for sensitive skin.
Our Lip Balm (Yes, the Good Stuff)
We’re also offering simple, nourishing lip balm made with the same care as everything else we produce.
No fillers. No artificial flavors.
Just smooth, long-lasting moisture that actually protects your lips especially during our harsh Maine winters.

From Our Home to Yours
We don’t outsource these products.
We don’t mass produce them.
And we don’t make anything we wouldn’t confidently use on ourselves and our kids.
Each jar, tin, and candle represents time, testing, and intention and we’re incredibly grateful for the support that allows us to keep doing this work.
Thank you for choosing to support Our Humble Homestead, for shopping local, and for valuing quality over convenience. You’re not just buying a product
you’re supporting a family, a farm, and a way of life rooted in care and stewardship.
As always, if you have questions about ingredients, use, or availability, reach out.
We’re happy to help.
