Chow with the Cows-Because Everything Tastes Better with Cows Watching

A couple weekends ago, our pasture was full of happy people, muddy boots, and cows who were very curious about all the snacks being eaten in their presence. And honestly is there anything better than eating a cookie while making direct eye contact with a cow? We think not.

Our Chow with the Cows event was such a blast! Families came out to meet our small, happy herd, kids got hands-on and made their own butter (which they proudly took home), and everyone got to sample our fresh strawberry yogurt straight from our gals’ milk.

And yes, it was a little muddy. But mud just adds to the authentic farm experience, right? You haven’t lived until you’ve sloshed through a field, yogurt cup in hand, with cows trailing behind you hoping for a taste.

Here’s the thing: we aren’t a big, fancy farm. We’re a small, family-run homestead where cows stay with their calves, the milk is loved and stewarded for our community, and events like this are a way to invite YOU to be part of it all.

We’re already scheming and planning the next Chow with the Cows ; with even more fun, less mud, more snacks, activities and definitely more cows ready to supervise. 🐄

👉 If you attended Chow with the Cows, drop a comment below and tell us your favorite part! We’d love to hear what you enjoyed (and if you made it out without getting muddy!).

And if you missed it this time stay tuned! More farm fun is coming soon. 🐮✨

Bourbon Red Turkeys

If you've visited our farm, you've probably spotted our beautiful Bourbon Red turkeys strutting around the pasture. Known for their striking deep-red feathers and calm personalities, Bourbon Reds are a heritage breed we are proud to raise.

We chose this breed not only for their beauty but also for their historical significance and exceptional flavor. Bourbon Reds were first developed in Kentucky in the late 1800s and are prized for their rich, tender meat far superior to what you'll find in a grocery store bird. Because they are a heritage breed, our turkeys grow at a natural pace, developing strong, healthy bodies with excellent flavor and texture.

Our Bourbon Reds are free-ranged, allowing them to forage on pasture, which contributes to their overall well-being and the nutrient density of their meat. They thrive on a diverse diet of grass, insects, and supplemental grains, and they are never given antibiotics or growth hormones.

We believe in stewarding these birds with care and respect, preserving a breed that was once nearly lost to history. When you purchase a Bourbon Red from our farm, you're not only getting a high-quality product you’re supporting sustainable, small-scale agriculture and helping to preserve a piece of American farming heritage.
