About the event

Chow with the Cows Brunch at Our Humble Homestead 🐄🥞

Come enjoy a slow morning on the farm with us, fresh brunch, and the cows 🌾

Here’s how it works:

Guests will enjoy a homemade pancake brunch out on the farm, and once everyone is finished eating, we’ll bring the cows over to help “clean up” any leftover cow-safe scraps 🐄💛 The kids absolutely love getting to interact with them up close while feeding them approved treats and leftovers from breakfast.

We’ll also have:

✨ Hands-on butter making

Bourbon Red Turkeys

If you've visited our farm, you've probably spotted our beautiful Bourbon Red turkeys strutting around the pasture. Known for their striking deep-red feathers and calm personalities, Bourbon Reds are a heritage breed we are proud to raise.

We chose this breed not only for their beauty but also for their historical significance and exceptional flavor. Bourbon Reds were first developed in Kentucky in the late 1800s and are prized for their rich, tender meat far superior to what you'll find in a grocery store bird. Because they are a heritage breed, our turkeys grow at a natural pace, developing strong, healthy bodies with excellent flavor and texture.

Our Bourbon Reds are free-ranged, allowing them to forage on pasture, which contributes to their overall well-being and the nutrient density of their meat. They thrive on a diverse diet of grass, insects, and supplemental grains, and they are never given antibiotics or growth hormones.

We believe in stewarding these birds with care and respect, preserving a breed that was once nearly lost to history. When you purchase a Bourbon Red from our farm, you're not only getting a high-quality product you’re supporting sustainable, small-scale agriculture and helping to preserve a piece of American farming heritage.
